Sunday 3rd October 2010 - Afghan Heroes Charity Fundraiser

To be honest, I've put off writing this review cos it's a big un!

After performing at a few charity fundraisers for 'Help For Heroes' in Kelty Club, I was approached to be part of the next charity day - this time for 'Afghan Heroes'.  You can visit their site HERE.

I felt privileged to be asked to take part in the event, which also included  -

  • The Millenium Stars - a group of local singers who raise a LOT of money for charity.

  • The Pipes and Drums of the Blackwatch - the amazing sight and sound of this pipe band makes you proud to be Scottish!

  • Kelty and Blairadam Junior Pipe Band - a very impressive musical treat from the youngsters

  • Ali Bell - an immensely talented singer.  I'm amazed I'd never met her or seen her work before.  She performed a wide variety of popular songs, but in her own laid back style.  Keep an eye out for Ali!

  • Carly Schievone - A local lass who has the potential to go far in the music business.  Her young, clean vocal holds the promise of things to come.

I'm not sure how much was raised on the day, but when I know, I'll let you know.

While I like doing these charity days, It might be a wee while till I do my next one, as these days are very long, and I'm no getting any younger!
